There has been a call in American Samoa for the need to have more women involved in leadership positions.

A traditional leader says problems in the government seem to be getting worse every year but a female-led administration might make some change.

There are four women currently heading government departmentsand only two female lawmakers among the 38 members of the House and Senate.

The former candidate for governor, Tisa Fa'amuli says there should be more women to address positive social growth.

Miss Fa'amuli says if that issue is addressed, the success of other issues, economically, environmentally and educationally is sure to follow.

There are so far four women candidates for this year's election.
