The New Zealand opera community has been saddened by the death of baritone Barry Mora.
Barry had a considerable international career in Germany and the UK before returning to New Zealand in 1990, appearing in many New Zealand and Australian productions.
He was well known not only for his own performances but for his encouragement of younger operatic talent. Barry was a vocal tutor at the New Zealand Opera School in Whanganui for many years.
Upbeat spoke to Barry’s friend of nearly 50 years, fellow opera singer Richard Greager, who says he was "a wonderful colleague to work with, both on and off the stage".
