The Shades are a quartet of young Auckland singers who are embarking on a tour of six centres around the country, starting this Sunday.
The ensemble (Ipu Laga’aia, Manase Latu, Taka Vuni and Samson Setu) has been part of the Dame Kiri Te Kanawa programme for young singers and have each performed regularly as soloists in concerts around New Zealand.
This past year, Manase and Samson have been based in New York where they're Lindemann Young Artists at the Metropolitan Opera.
A couple of days ago, The Shades came into our Auckland studios to talk with Tim Dodd and perform some songs.
