Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra Music Director Giordano Bellincampi is back in New Zealand to work with the orchestra for the first time since the Covid-19 lockdown.
A day out from completing managed isolation in Rotorua, the Italian-born Copenhagen-based musician talked about the European Covid situation, and expressed his sheer delight in being able to return to Auckland to work with "his" orchestra.
He says that although he has maintained close virtual contact with the APO, for a Music Director there is simply no substitute for working with the musicians in person.
