Festival Opera’s season of Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci is in full swing, and already getting great reviews: a "splendid production", wrote Peter Williams in Hawke's Bay Today.
Festival Opera has a strong association with Project Prima Volta (PPV), the programme set up to bring younger people in contact with opera.
David Morriss spoke with Festival Opera co-founder Anna Pierard and PPV graduate Lila 'LJ' Crichton about their roles in opera's most famous double bill, and the relationship between the Festival Opera and PPV.
