Upbeat for Friday 29 June

From Upbeat, 11:01 am on 29 June 2018

Midday

1pm Peter Walls’ diverse musical involvement

Classical music has a great capacity to provide profound comfort in times of loss; one of the beloved such works in the repertoire is Fauré’s Requiem. Wellington choir Nota Bene is performing this luminous work, and music by 17th Century Englishman Henry Purcell, in its next concert. Upbeat talks with conductor Peter Walls.

We continue our series of suites of the day. Today it’s Grieg’s Holberg Suite, performed by the Bergen Phil under conductor Ole Kristian Ruud.
