1pm Peter and the Wolf reimagined

A lineup of talented narrators including Wellington’s mayor Justin Lester and RNZ’s Kim Hill, lend their voices to the retelling of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf at New Zealand Festival. Director Sophie Roberts and Composer Leon Radojkovic describe theircontemporary reimagining of the popular work, complete with live videography, puppetry and a six-piece band.

1.30 Sleep with Max Richter

Audience members at composer Max Richter's concertSleep are given a camp bed and a snack, and encouraged to nod off during the eight-hour overnight performance. Richter plays piano throughout the most extended lullaby of all time. He tells Kim Hill why he wants his audience to go to sleep.
