From Upbeat, 1:00 pm on 21 April 2017

New Zealand School of Music’s Dr. Daphne Rickson knows how music can truly change lives. The senior lecturer in Music Therapy has been awarded a $100,000 grant to explore the effectiveness of music therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Music has always been part of Daphne’s life, first as a teacher and pianist, then as a therapist. Her interest in music therapy started 33 years ago when her daughter was born deaf.
