Royal New Zealand Ballet dancer Joseph Skelton is leaping across the ditch to perform in Australian Ballet’s Giselle as a guest principal dancer. It’s the first time a Royal New Zealand Ballet dancer has been invited to perform with its Australian counterpart. He will play the role of Albrecht, a physically demanding and strenuous role in the ballet of Giselle.

But the road to success hasn’t been an easy one for Joseph. While studying in England a couple of years ago he had a collision with a bus and it was thought he would never walk without a limp again.

Eva Radich speaks with Joseph ahead of his flight to Hong Kong, where he is performing this week with the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
