The 2014 Joan Sutherland & Richard Bonynge Bel Canto Awards held in Sydney last weekend were dominated by New Zealand singers, with Auckland soprano Marlena Devoe winning first prize, and bass-baritone James Ioelu winning second prize, Richard Bonynge Award and and The Tait Memorial Trust Prize.
