UK singer and choir manager Jessica Kinney got a taste of the New Zealand choral scene while studying at Victoria University of Wellington a few years back.
She liked it so much she's back again to become the new Manager, Artistic Planning and Outreach with ChoirsNZ, the national body that oversees Voices New Zealand, the New Zealand Youth Choir, NZSSC, and the Aotearoa Academy Choir.
With music administration experience that includes managing one of the UK's leading choirs, The Tallis Scholars, Kinney came to choir management through singing - she has a fine soprano voice (local choirs take note!)
Kinney spoke with RNZ Concert about her musical journey so far, and a few of her favourite choral pieces, which included this one, by New Zealand composer and baritone, David Griffiths.
