Launched by Eden Arts in 2016, the Mt Eden Chamber Music Festival has become a popular annual event on the Auckland arts calendar. It takes the form of three one-hour early evening or afternoon concerts in the centre of Mt Eden over the course of a weekend, and features some of New Zealand's best professional chamber musicians.
The Festival is on this weekend 29-31 August, and RNZ Concert spoke with the Festival's artistic director and co-founder, Simeon Broom. The violinist grew up in Mt Eden and had the vision of creating a local festival along the lines of the European festivals he has played in.
