Chloe Moon, born in 1952, was educated at the University of Canterbury, graduating with a BMus (hons) in 1973. From 1974 to 1977 she was a member of the Camerata Quartet. She was awarded a post-graduate scholarship by the Belgian Government for violin study at Ghent in 1977. From 1978-83 she was a part-time lecturer at the School of Music, University of Canterbury. From 1985 to date she has been a private music teacher, freelance composer, and Principal Viola for the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

Chloe says: "The little Requiem piece was written to express sadness for loss generally, whether it be personal or global."
