Welsh language artist Gwilym Bowen Rhys is a nominee for Folk Singer of the Year.
Last year’s winner of the BBBC Radio 2 Musician of the Year Glasgow concertina player Mohsen Amini is once again a contender in the same category for his work with two traditional Scottish bands: Talisk and Ímar.
And Gianluigi Trovesi and Gianni Coscia have fun reinventing the music of Kurt Weill for accordion and clarinets on their disc ‘Round About Weill’.
