We celebrate the career of André Midani who has died after devoting his life to Brazilian music. He made the bossa nova movement huge, recording Brazilian stars Gilberto Gil, João Gilberto and Antônio Carlos Jobim.
But it was Brazilian composer and guitarist Roberto Menescal, who is credited with inventing bossa nova by taking Brazilian samba and giving it a modern rhythm. "Inverno" was the hit single from his landmark album "A Bossa Nova."
