There are two main features. First is the reissue of Jon Boden's 2006 album Painted Lady, now with three bonus tracks. Boden is a British folkie – he was going to be a footnote to the Eliza Carthy programme a few weeks back – but this album contains a surprising cover of Whitney Houston's 'I Want to Dance with Somebody' from the film The Bodyguard.
The other feature is the soundtrack for the Academy Award-winning Moonlight containing the sharply chiselled bites of Nicholas Britell's music that give the film its character-defining darkness and light.
You'll also hear tracks from Bob Dylan, Johnny Hartman and John Coltrane, Ryan Gosling and the cast of La La Land, and '60s Detroit singer Barbara Lewis.
