Esperanza as Emily

From New Horizons, 5:00 pm on 28 August 2016

For her new album, the extraordinary bass-player/singer/songwriter Esperanza Spalding takes on an alter ego - William calls it a "snappy persona"; she calls it a "spirit space". Emily's D+Evolution tells stories from the heart and as William puts it, "the essentially funky core blooms in all directions."

By way of introduction, he starts with - who else? - Dick Van Dyke.
