Leeds-based Dakota Suite is a loose collection of musicians centred around frontman Chris Hooson. The man's a social worker by day and he gathers his colleagues to join him in weaving long instrumental ruminations and songs - pieces in which time seems to stand still.

Dirty Projectors on the other side of the Atlantic is based around singer/songwriter David Longstreth and is a far cry from the gentle ambient flow of Dakota Suite. Says William: "They hustle and bustle in their own fidgety adrenalin pool."
