William reviews three new local releases with links to New Zealand's musical past:

He Rangi Paihuarere: A Tribute to the Late Hirini Melbourne (Black Media/Ode) ... the master's songs are reinterpreted by various musicians, originally for a show at the 2012 WOMAD Festival in New Plymouth. William plays the contibutions from Mel Davis, Tama Waipara, Ria Hall, Teremoana Rapley, Arekatera Maihi and Kawiti Waetford.

The Warratahs - 25 Year Collection (Ode)

Jazz Concert 1950, Auckland Town Hall (Ode) ... the live concert was relayed to and recorded at the Astor Recording Studio in Shortland Street. It features a who's-who of the Auckland jazz scene at the time. William plays tracks by Mavis Rivers and tin whistle maestro Hughie Gordon.
