Navigation for New Horizons

Taking his cue from Caetano Veloso and David Byrne's Live at Carnegie Hall (a 2004 concert, recently released by Nonesuch), William explores a few live performances: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Gin Wigmore, both taken from KGSR's Broadcasts releases - recordings from Austin, Texas's South By Southwest Festival; Clare and the Reason's Live in Amsterdam (here he chooses their cover of the beautiful Harry Nilsson song for Olive Oyl in the movie Popeye, 'He Needs Me') and Holly Near and Ronnie Gilbert, recorded live at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco in 1983 - the album called Lifeline Extended. Also included is a performance of 'Case' by NZ group Dimmer, recorded live by André Upston of RNZ in the Helen Young Studio in 2004.
