Curated specially for our tamariki, this family-friendly schools concert showcases beloved symphonic music, along with a new suite called Ngā Tohu o te Taiao, specially composed by Dr Jeremy Mayall and commissioned by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

This concert is a journey into the wonders of the natural world and includes a musical retelling of the Māori creation story. We’ll hear about Aotearoa New Zealand’s seasonal signs of nature, where and when to find them, and how to care for them. And there’s also a special song for children to sing with the orchestra, as well as other popular symphonic pieces.

The story was devised by Chris Lam Sam, Marcus Winter and Jeremy Mayall and the concert is hosted by Chris Lam Sam.
