The members of GoodFellas from St Kentigern College are: Jason Wong and Alex Bian, percussion and Sunny Le and Charles Sang, piano.

Jenny McLeod's piece was written for Michael Houstoun, Diedre Irons, Bruce McKinnon and Nicholae Albulescu and premièred in 1987.  It was created as a sort of companion piece to Bartok’s 'Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion'.

It’s a little dance suite in three movements with references ranging from the square dance, hoe down, ragtime and cakewalk through to reggae and the odd African rhythm. The stylistic variety allows the percussion to feature just as strongly as the pianos.

The three movements are:

  • Dolly-bird,
  • Little Song with Cakewalk
  • Heydown
