'Assemblage' is a new collaboration between composer Alex Taylor and artist Simon Ingram.
They spent a lot of time wondering what music a machine would listen to, if it could listen? And ‘what would an orchestra sound like if it were a machine, and what might it visualise’?
Simon has programmed a robot to create visual images in response to Alex’s music. You can hear the robot working as contact microphones have been attached to the machine while it paints, responding to the sounds the orchestra makes.
