Eve de CASTRO-ROBINSON: Stumbling Trains

From Music Alive, 8:03 pm on 24 October 2020

Performed by cellist Ashley Brown at the Auckland Arts Festival concert, 'Clarion', 16 March 2020.

Stumbling Trains is Ashley Brown's reimagining for solo cello and effects pedals of Eve de Castro-Robinson's 1992 work Tumbling Strains, conceived for album The Gristle of Knuckles (Rattle, 2017).

In this performance, this “high octane solo adaptation” sees the cellist attempt to “saw the cello in half.”

Recorded by RNZ Concert in the Auckland Arts Festival's Spiegeltent, 16 March 2020
