William Williams was a London instrumentalist and composer who died, probably in his twenties, in 1701.

This is a trio sonata with the subtitle “In Imitation of Birds”.

To play it, the recorder players Kamala Bain and Jessica Shaw with a continuo section consisting James Tibbles on harpsichord, Jonathan Le Cocq on baroque guitar, and Martin Griffiths on cello.
