Music Alive for Tuesday 4 February 2020
It's 250 years since the birth of Beethoven. To begin the celebratory year we bring you the complete Violin Sonatas played by Bella Hristova and Michael Houstoun.
Bulgarian violinist, Bella Hristova won the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2007 and the following year, as part of her prize, she toured New Zealand with Michael Houstoun in a series of concerts for Chamber Music New Zealand. This tour marks a nine year reunion between the two and was born of their mutual passion for Beethoven and the realisation that they enjoyed a remarkable shared vision of this music.
