Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra - Great Classics "The Planets"

Cellist Li Wei Qin is the orchestra's guest soloist. He performed Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme and followed that with a mesmerising encore by contemporary Italian composer Giovanni Sollima.

The orchestra opened the concert with two movements from Debussy's Images for Orchestra, and filled the second half with the ever-popular The Planets by Gustav Holst.
