British pianist Kathryn Stott first played with the New Zealand String Quartet in Australia about ten years ago, and then they asked her to be a special guest at the 2015 Adam Chamber Music Festival in Nelson. Violist and Festival co-director Gillian Ansell says, "we absolutely loved her playing and she's also great fun to be around so it's going to be a great treat to tour with her."

They toured together for Chamber Music New Zealand in May 2017. In this concert recorded in Auckland Town Hall, Kathryn Stott opens the programme with two solo piano works by Fauré and Ravel.

The the Quartet joins her to play Piano Quintets by John Psathas and César Franck.

Kathryn Stott talks to Upbeat.

Kathryn Stott also played Rachmaninov's 4th Piano Concerto with the Auckland Philharmonia while she was in the country.
