Many of the most popular jazz standards around have their origins in French chansons. Frank Sinatra's 'My Way' started life as 'Comme d'habitude'; Tony Bennett's 'The Good Life' began as 'La belle vie', and 'I Wish You Love' was originally a song called 'Que reste-il de nos amours'.
