Nick explores the often-hidden world of Soviet jazz, from the 1930s to the 1980s. Artists include Yakov Skomorovsky, the Allegro Jazz Ensemble, and the Uzbek jazz fusion ensemble Sato. Plus music from an album recorded in the US, featuring tunes written by Soviet musicians and smuggled out of the country.
