Remember Buena Vista Social Club, the album recorded in the 1990s by American guitarist Ry Cooder and an impressive lineup of veteran Cuban musicians?
Today in Global Sounds we’ve the story of the album that was supposed to have been made at the time – a collaboration between musicians from Mali and Cuba. Many years later, the original musicians and producer Nick Gold were able to revisit the project, and the result was the album AfroCubism.
