Wu Man: pipa virtuoso

To celebrate Chinese New Year today in Global Sounds, we're featuring pipa  virtuoso Wu Man. First in an interview with Radio New Zealand's Trevor Reekie, and then in tracks from Borderlands. In this album from the Smithsonian Folkways series Music of Central Asia, Wu Man and her Uyghur, Tajik, and Hui collaborators explore connections between the musical worlds of China and Central Asia – Wu Man and master musicians from the Silk Route.
