2013 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese calendar, and we celebrate today in Global Sounds with a selection of Chinese classical music. We feature four leading exponents of different traditions: Wu Man (pipa), Lin Youren (qin zither), Li Jinwen (‘sheng-guan’ music for wind and percussion) and Xuan Ke (Dongjing religious music)
