Aam Zameen: Common Ground – Kieran Ahluwalia

On the face of it, writes Songlines music magazine’s Li Robbins, Kieran Ahluwalia doesn’t have a lot in common with Touareg band Tinariwen.

Yet the Indian-Canadian singer who’s best known for performances of ghazals and Punjabi folk songs manages to blend her music with the hypnotic groove of the desert blues band in her latest album, Aam Zameen: Common Ground (Kiran Music KM-2011)
