Rank outsiders Uruguay have competed in two previous World Cups (1999 and 2003) and won games at both of these tournaments.

Their squad includes four European-based players, who will bring experience and a level of professionalism to the team.

They are in Pool A at the World Cup alongside England, Australia, Wales and Fiji, but are unlikely to have the power to beat any of those teams.
