A The seat-belt

Bohlin was an aviation engineer who originally worked on ejector seats. He developed the 3-point seat-belt while working for Volvo, and the product was first used in 1959 on two Volvo models: the Amazon and the PV544.

Volvo did patent the design, but made it available for free to all other car manufacturers in the interest of safety.
