Q 1 Name all seven dwarfs from Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs film

A Dopey, Grumpy, Doc, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Happy

The original story by The Brothers Grimm did not name the dwarfs. They were first named in a 1912 play as Blick, Flick, Glick, Snick, Plick, Whick, Quee.

The name "Snow White" is a trademark of Disney Enterprises, Inc.

Q 2 The element Mercury is liquid at room temperature (24°C). What other element is liquid at this temperature?

  1. Caesium
  2. Gallium
  3. Bromine
  4. Rubidium

A Bromine

Bromine was first discovered in 1825, and in nature occurs only as halide salts. The other options for this answer only become liquid above room temperature. Caesium at 28 °C, gallium at 29.76 °C, and rubidium at 39.3 °C.

A Contronym

The term contronym was first coined in 1962 and describes a word that has two contradictory meanings.

Examples are:

Seed. You can seed a lawn (add seeds), or seed a tomato (remove them).

Fast. You can run very fast or colours can be fast.

Peer. A person of the nobility, or someone who is your equal.

Five vowels: a, e, i, o, u

Ten consonants: h, k, m, n, ng, p, r, t, w, wh

Two of the consonants are digraphs - two letters that combine to form one sounds.

The two moons are called Phobos and Deimos. Both were discovered in 1877.

Black Roses grow in only on place in the world - the village of Halfeti in Turkey.
