From Nine To Noon, 9:20 am on 11 November 2019

For the last 50 years, each year, the life span of the average New Zealander has increased by about 10 weeks per year. When population health specialist, Alistair Woodward was at medical school in 1970, life expectancy for men and women was around three score years and 10, now it is 84 for women and 82 for men.

Professor Woodward is a University of Auckland  professor of epidemiology and biostatistics in the School of Population Health.
