Water is still being rationed on Tuvalu.
The New Zealand High Commissioner to Tuvalu Gareth Smith told Morning Report that households on the main island of Funafuti are restricted to two buckets each day.
He said only 60 litres of drinking water was available on the island of Nukulaelae, worst hit by the drought, before emergency supplies arrived last week.
Some 330 people live on the island and Mr Smith said the situation is tight.
He said another desalination unit will be set up but there will be long-term food shortages because of the shortage of water.
