Police in Austria have arrested two young men in connection with a series of random airgun shootings in Vienna in recent weeks.
Eighteen people have been injured since late August. Almost every district of the city was targeted in the shootings which occurred on busy streets.
Police said the suspects had admitted carrying out the attacks, but failed to provide a motive. Both were aged 20.
Deutsche Welle Radio reports BB pellets were found in their vehicle.
Witnesses had described seeing a white car at the crime scenes. The federal criminal agency had offered a reward of 20,000 euros ($US27,148) for valuable information.
