The state government of Victoria is investigating after a Melbourne man dubbed 'the Australian Josef Fritzl' was charged on Thursday with sexually abusing his daughter.
The Melbourne man reportedly fathered four children to his daughter and raped her almost daily for 30 years.
The state government is investigating, but the opposition says that's not good enough, especially since it was revealed the victim went to police in 2005.
Community Services Minister Lisa Neville says she and her department only heard about the case from a newspaper report.
