Qantas has come under fire from parliamentarians and unions as the Australian airline's plans to cut 1,000 jobs heats up.
The Transport Workers Union is urging the government to consider a legislative response, saying it is an issue about greed followed by stupidity.
The Greens and Independent Senator Nick Xenophon say they will be taking a close look at the Qantas Sale Act, while Labor's Glenn Sterle says it is a frightening situation, reports the ABC.
But Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce is defending the changes, saying it is building a better airline.
He denies there will be more job losses, and says jobs are not being transferred offshore.
