A Chinese man accused of a stabbing an taxi driver to death in New Zealand will find out on Wednesday whether court has found him guilty of murder.
Xiao Zhen is accused of killing Hiren Mohini, 39, in the Auckland suburb of Mt Eden on 31 January last year. He was found in China several months later.
His trial in Shanghai this month lasted a day. A panel of judges will deliver its verdict on Wednesday.
The Chinese government has promised the death penalty will not apply in this case.
Detective Senior Sergeant Hywel Jones says Xiao Zhen agreed in court with some of the evidence against him, but that did not equate to a guilty plea.
