Biosecurity Australia says it appers there have been two more Hendra virus outbreaks in Queensland.
Vets say on horse at Hervey Bay, North of Brisbane, was confirmed with the virus and had been put down on Thursday.
Another horse is believed to have contracted the virus at a hobby farm at Boondall, also to the north of Brisbane but will be tested again to confirm it is infected.
That property has been quarantined because it is in the vicinity of the city's Doomben and Ascot racing tracks.
Officials say the cases are not linked.
The confirmed case of Hendra at Hervey Bay takes to ten the number of horses that have died or been put down since the virus first appeared in June.
Seven have been in Queensland and three in New South Wales.
