UN peacekeepers wounded in Lebanon

Six Italian UN peacekeepers have been wounded - two of them seriously - in a roadside bomb explosion in south Lebanon.

Two civilians were also wounded.

The United Nations says the convoy was targeted on a highway near Sidon.

The attack happened on the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers.

The UN Interim Force has 12,000 troops in south Lebanon.
