Iran says it has broken up a spy network run by the Central Intelligence Agency and 30 people have been arrested as a result.
A statement read on State TV said Iranian citizens had been recruited and asked to spy on research institutes, universities and nuclear power programmes.
''A complex espionage and sabotage network linked to America's spy organisation was uncovered and dismantled ... (by) elite agents of the intelligence ministry,'' the statement said.
Iran said the network was operated by US diplomatic missions in Turkey, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
The BBC reports that Iran occasionally announces such arrests of people linked to foreign intelligence agencies.
