North Korea has confirmed it has arrested a United States citizen and is preparing to charge him with committing a crime against the country.
Jun Young Su was apprehended in November last year.
The BBC reports the man is a Korean American who has, says North Korea, admitted his crime for which he will be charged and indicted.
There is no detail of what crime he is accused of.
South Korea media reports that Mr Jun is in his 60s from California and frequently travels to the secretive Communist state on a business visa.
The BBC reports the suggestion is that Mr Jun may be suspected of taking part in unauthorised religious activities - essentially, being a missionary.
