Authorities in Egypt have arrested three former ministers, including former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly, for alleged corruption.

He has been widely blamed for the police violence against protesters during the unrest that forced the departure of President Hosni Mubarak.

The BBC says Mr el-Adly was detained along with the former Housing and Tourism Ministers.

An official says they will be held for 15 days while the investigation continues.
