Drug smuggler's sentence reduced

4:38 pm on 26 December 2010

Convicted Australian drug smuggler Schapelle Corby has had her Indonesian prison sentence cut for Christmas.

The Antara news agency reports her jail term has been reduced by 45 days.

It says more than 7000 prisoners have received cuts of 15 days to two months. The ABC reports this is a traditional holiday reward for good behaviour.

Corby, who is from the Gold Coast, is serving a 20-year term at Kerobokan prison, Bali, after more than 4kg of marijuana was found in her luggage at a Bali airport in 2004.
