Power back on in Queensland

Power has been restored to 175,000 customers after three days of storms in south east Queensland.

All 32,000 properties that were blacked out during Friday's storms have been reconnected.

Most were on the Gold Coast and the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Caboolture and west of Ipswich.

Energex says crews are still on stand-by as more storms are expected over the weekend.

It says there were 17,000 lightning strikes and winds of more than 100km per hour on Saturday night.

The ABC reports parts of the Sunshine Coast received more than 80mm of rain in 24 hours.

The Weather Bureau says there is likely to be more storms and rain on Sunday.
